This blog post grew from a discussion we were having in the office a few weeks ago about the size of the frames in wood-aluminum “passive house” windows compared to fibreglass windows.
Based on our analysis the smaller frames of the fibreglass windows when compared to the thick frames of the wood-aluminum windows allow for additional wall insulation which improves the effective performance of the window beyond the stated R-value.

Prince Edward County Rammed Earth House – Construction Update – February 2023
In the first week of February the pre-fabricated roof was installed on the Prince Edward Country custom high performance rammed earth house. Considering that construction began in September, the walls were completed in December, and the roof has been installed in the first week of February, construction is moving along very nicely!
